17 September 2015 Peter presented a lecture and tutorial to the ‘Early Childhood Learning’ students at Macquarie University Sydney.

21 December 2014 Peter enjoyed his first Special Olympics Sunshine Coast Golf Tournament at Nambour Golf Club.
10 October 2014 The Official Launch of Josh Goes to the Library was held at Avid Reader Bookshop in West End, Brisbane.
3 October 2014 Peter launched his new book at Caloundra Library with eager children and their parents.
27 Sept 2014 A small launch event and community concert was held at Cup From Above cafe in Aspley. Peter’s artwork was also displayed in the cafe for the whole month of September, and he sold one piece during this period.
26 Sept 2014 Peter’s new book Josh Goes to the Library was launched at Noosa Library by Maureen O’Shea. Noosa Librarian, Maureen O’Shea, helped Peter with research for the book and features in the illustrations.
11-14 Sept 2014 Some of Peter’s artwork was displayed in the 2014 AFTM (Art From The Margins) Brisbane Festival Exhibtion at Brisbane City Hall. On the 13th of September, Peter participated in the Outsider Art Forum, as part of the festival exhibition. Peter sold one of his pieces at this exhibition.
July 2014 A new book Josh Goes to the Library has finally been written, illustrated and is off to the printer (thanks to a RADF grant from Sunshine Coast Council).
July 2014 Access Arts-funded marketing mentorship commenced. Kelsey Moore will be working with author Charmaine Clancy on promoting and marketing Peter’s children’s books, increasing his online profile, and organizing book launch events.
June 2014 Peter welcomed University of the Sunshine Coast Marketing graduate Kelsey Moore to ‘Team Rowe’. Kelsey has taken on the role of marketing and promoting Peter and his books after a very successful uni internship from Feb to June 2014.
29 May 2014 Peter was a big hit at a presentation to Year 6 students at Siena Catholic Primary School, Sippy Downs. After a reading from two of his children’s books, students and staff were enthralled during a Q&A time with Peter on the benefits of FC and living with a disability.
22–25 May 2014 Sold two out of three paintings exhibited at the annual Immanuel Arts Festival. There were 400 artworks exhibited in all.
March/April 2014 A selection of Peter’s artworks, featuring robots and dinosaurs in different media, were on display at Kawana Library.
14 March 2014 Peter was interviewed on ‘Ipswich Connections’, a community radio program run through USQ, about his involvement with the Brotherhood of the Wordless. Clients of the Springfield branch of the Cerebal Palsey League have been co-hosting the program every Friday afternoon for nearly five years.
Feb.2014 Two of Peter’s paintings featured in ‘The McCrae Collection’ exhibition at the Butter Factory Arts Centre, Cooroy.
Nov.2013 – Jan.2014 Colour is My Voice’ Solo art exhibition at the Butter Factory Arts Centre in Cooroy

Joined three other Sunshine Coast artists with a disability in the Right Back @ U – Unearthed exhibition at Caloundra Regional Gallery. The exhibition ran until 13 January 2013. Ross Barber, the man who first encouraged Peter to paint, was guest speaker at the event.

10 Nov. 2012

The Brotherhood of the Wordless (BOW) launched their new anthology with a performance of their writings at the Queensland State Library in Brisbane. This book mainly features the Brotherhood’s writings/scripts from their two performances “Air For The Birds” and “Big Thoughts From the Frightened Well” which were performed at the State Library in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

Attended Josh the Robot book reading at Caloundra library with about 40 Grade 2 students followed by a lively and inquisitive question-and-answer session. The books are sold through the Sunshine Coast Libraries’ website and selected bookstores.

Peter was one of four artists invited to the Official Launch of Art from the Margins (AFTM) in Brisbane. AFTM, through Wesley Mission Brisbane, supports and promotes ‘disadvantaged’ artists.

Josh the Robot children’s book series launch at Avid Reader Bookshop, West End Brisbane, along with an exhibition of selected artworks by Peter, in conjunction with **Art From the Margins and Wesley Mission Brisbane. This generated print and website stories in various Brisbane and Sunshine Coast media outlets.

Peter’s three paintings entitled ‘Doorway Series 1-2-3’ won the Fulton Trotter Major Award at the **Art From The Margins (AFTM) Exhibition – part of the 2010 Brisbane Festival. The paintings were acquired by AFTM for their collection and touring exhibition.

28 August 2010

Participated in the *Brotherhood of the Wordless repeat performance of Air for the Birds at the Judith Wright Centre in Brisbane as part of the Queensland Poetry Festival.

30 January 2010

Participated in Air For the Birds – a program of assisted recitals performed by the *Brotherhood of the Wordless at the State Library, Brisbane. All poetic works were written by members throughout 2009 in collaboration with performance poet ‘Ghost Boy’ and performed with assistance from other professional musicians and poets.

November 2009

Peter’s artwork appeared on the cover of the AGOSCI magazine (aka Australian Group On Severe Communication Impairment) along with an article he wrote.

May 2009

Keynote Speaker at the Disability Services Queensland “Connecting the Pieces SFO8” Conference in Brisbane.

Performed in the play ‘Dreemz’ along with 20 other members of the *Brotherhood of the Wordless at the QUT Campus, Carseldine. Brotherhood members wrote their own parts with assistance from songwriters and musicians and performed using Facilitated Communication to portray their struggles to overcome fear, doubt and public suspicion of themselves and their writings.

Co-presented at “Partners in Practice” Conference in Brisbane run by Disability Services Queensland (DSQ) for 200 of its professional and specialist staff.  Peter helped present “Understanding Movement, Sensory and Communication Differences” and shared his experiences on the” Panel of Experts” panel discussion. At this conference, one of Peter’s larger artworks was purchased by DSQ, Brisbane.

March 2008

Peter welcomed Rosemary Crossley (developer of the Facilitated Communication system) and Annie McDonnell (subject of the film ‘Annie’s Coming Out’) to Brisbane at the launch of the Facilitated Communication Training Association Qld Inc.

Feb. 2008

Art exhibition at the Maroochydore Library, preceded by a radio interview with Jamie Dunn. The exhibition resulted in a good number of sales.

Wrote, illustrated and published three children’s books: The Handsome Man’, ‘The Way Home and The Big Black Cloud. These books have been distributed nationally and to France, England and America and are available in local and national libraries.

September 2005

Contributor in Tapping on the Heart of the World – a collection of poetry and prose written by Brotherhood of the Wordless members.

2004 – 2007

Part of the innovative performance trio QWERTY with internationally renowned musician Linsey Pollak and local singer, Terry Delaney, who interpreted Peter’s ad-libbed lyrics in music and song. The group performed extensively at local and national venues including a standing ovation at the Woodford Folk Festival.

April 2003

Performed at the Wataboshi Festival in Brisbane (for artists with disabilities) as one of the main characters in Horse to Water– a collaborative show directed by renowned local musician, Linsey Pollack with vocals from Amy Hunter and Terry Delaney


First started painting at an art workshop at Cooroy Butterfactory with Ross Barber. Art became a vital form of expression and therapy for Peter in dealing with PTSD after abuse at a care facility.

*The Brotherhood of the Wordless  (BOW) is a group of writers and poets with assorted disabilities that impair their ability to speak. They meet monthly to write using Facilitated Communication.
